Assistant Centre Cook Part Time | Busy Bees Westgate

We are seeking an experienced cook who is a "whizz in the kitchen" to become our very own Assistant Centre Cook at Busy Bees Westgate!  Our fully equipped kitchen is well stocked with all the right tools for you to create amazing dishes for our little people.

Ideally, the successful candidate will hold a current Food Handling certificate and have previous experience making delicious food for pre-schoolers.  We are looking for someone who will be a great fit with us and who has a genuine interest in providing well prepared, nutritious meals for our tamariki.  A great allrounder, you will need to be flexible as you may also be required to help out on the floor and assist with laundry duties.

Hours:

The role is 20 hours per week, working 4 hours per day to assist our Centre Cook, but must be able to cover Cook's absences as required.

Our preferred candidate will be:

• Experienced in cooking for large groups, be it in a childcare centre or other environment
• Able to work well in a fast-paced environment, at times under pressure.
• Fit and active, as this is a busy role
• Excellent at communication and have skills to build rapport with parents & children
• Able to purchase to a budget
• Competent in maintaining written records in line with the Food Act requirements
• Flexible in approach, but also able to work to a daily schedule
