NZ - Registered Teacher
Poipoia te kākano Kia puāwai | Nurture the seed and it will blossom
The unique opportunity to join our team has become available and we are on the lookout for a Registered Kaiako to join our Centre whanau. This is a chance to work in a beautiful villa-style centre that honours respectful care, whānau partnership and rich, play-based learning from infancy through to school transition.
About us:
Busy Bees Hardy Street is part of the Busy Bees Aotearoa whānau, so you have the support of a national organisation with the warmth of a close-knit local centre. Our teaching is grounded in whanaungatanga, RIE and Pikler informed practice and the belief that parents are a child’s first teachers. Key teaching, primary caregiving and strong partnerships with whānau sit at the heart of our philosophy.
Across five age-appropriate rooms that flow into lush, garden-filled outdoor spaces, we support tamariki as they grow into confident, active learners. Undercover areas, nearby nature walks and regular excursions give you plenty of scope to follow children’s questions beyond the classroom. A dedicated chef, Nourish menus and our journey toward the Tohu Manawa Ora Healthy Heart Award, alongside composting and partnering with a local farmer, mean hauora and sustainability are already woven through the programme.
About you:
You hold NZ teacher registration in ECE or Primary and bring a warm, steady presence. You notice children’s cues, value unhurried care moments and are confident working within Te Whāriki. You enjoy planning and documenting learning journeys, using Storypark or similar, and you see whānau as true partners. Bicultural practice matters to you, you weave te reo Māori into everyday interactions and you are comfortable working with primary caregiving, key teaching and play-based, inquiry-rich learning. You are reflective, collaborative and see yourself as a learner alongside tamariki.

Why Work for Busy Bees?
If you’re passionate about early learning, Busy Bees is the place to be. Although we are part of a global organisation, our company was founded by three families looking for better, more enriching childcare. Three decades later, we still keep the same values at heart.
We know that we couldn’t do what we do without the important people in our teams. We invest in our people and work with them to build career pathways that inspire.
