Every child and family are welcome as part of our whānau. The principles of respect, care, warmth, trust, and aroha (manaakitanga) are the foundation for excellence in our teaching. We focus on developing strong, meaningful and authentic relationships (whanaungatanga) with children their families and whānau.
We stand true to these values, and respect and honour the uniqueness of each centre community, their tamariki and their families. Together, we’re committed to future generations of New Zealanders and believe that every child matters.
Busy Bees Aotearoa is unique, combining the strength, stability, and knowledge of a respected and established international organisation with the close connections with our centre communities and local places. By keeping our values at heart, and working to the highest standards we can, the outcomes for our teams and tamariki are world class.
The success of Busy Bees globally supports our ambition to be the best early learning provider in New Zealand. We will maintain and respect each centre’s identity and uniqueness. Our connection to the land of Aotearoa is paramount to our future.
At Busy Bees Aotearoa, people are at the heart of everything we do. In every moment we aspire to be positive, to work collaboratively, and to empower others to reach their potential.
Children learn and develop best in a caring, supportive environment which responds to their individual needs, allowing them to play and explore at each unique age and stage.
Indoor and outdoor environments create important spaces for learning to happen, which are both welcoming and interesting for all children.
The nurturing care and learning activities will be tailored for each age group to promote positive well-being, stability and actively support children's development at each stage.
Our nurseries are warm, cosy and safe places, where children are nurtured and cared for with the support of caring Kaiako (teachers). At this early age, children are developing at a rapid rate, absorbing everything the world has to offer and they thrive in a safe environment that fosters responsive care routines. Kaiako know how important it is to provide a loving and caring environment for your children to ensure they are kept safe and well when in our care.
Our toddler spaces are designed to help tamariki of this exciting stage of discovery, balance the desire to be independent with the need to be nurtured and cared for. Kaiako support this age group to explore their sense of self whilst still providing more care than the older children, working closely with families to encourage toileting skills, as well as a focus on emerging social skills and independence.
At this stage, tamariki become more aware of their upcoming transition to school, which is reflected in the resources available to them. While reading and writing materials are available to explore, the curriculum is emergent and discovery-based. Kaiako support tamariki with social and emotional competence and children are encouraged to care for others, the environment and their own property and are supported to understand their growing sense of responsibility for themselves and the world around them. The provision of loose parts in this area also promotes imagination, problem solving and a thirst for future learning.
At Busy Bees, we believe that good people are what makes our organisation thrive, by delivering our values and providing the best quality care to children and parents. Each team member plays a vital role in the development of the children at our childcare centres, and we strive to bring out the best in our staff by providing them with the support and tools they need to succeed.
