Kia Ora, I'm Buzz!
Buzz the busy little leader of our hive and has been helping young learners spread their wings for over 12 years! With a natural talent for organisation, teamwork, and making everyone feel welcome, Buzz keeps the hive buzzing with fun, learning, and adventure every day.
As Centre Manager, Buzz is passionate about creating a warm and nurturing environment where every child can grow, explore, and develop confidence at their own pace. He believes that just like bees working together in a hive, children thrive when they feel connected, supported, and valued.
Known for his cheerful smile, can-do attitude, and excellent pollen-planning skills, Buzz loves greeting families each morning and checking in on all the exciting learning happening throughout the centre.
When he's not managing the hive, Buzz enjoys collecting nectar, tending to his flower garden, and leading the annual Bee-Bop Dance Competition.
At Honeycomb Haven, every little bee is encouraged to explore, discover, and grow in a nurturing hive filled with wonder and adventure. Surrounded by colourful blossoms, buzzing creativity, and caring educators, our centre provides a safe and inspiring environment where children can build confidence, develop friendships, and cultivate a lifelong love of learning. From hands-on experiences in our Nectar Garden to imaginative play in the Bumble Bee Grove, every day is filled with opportunities for young learners to spread their wings. Our dedicated hive of teachers works closely with families to ensure each child feels valued, supported, and ready to thrive.
Our Programmes
Bee Curious, our Busy Bees Curriculum Framework, has been created to guide and inspire kaiako in supporting tamariki through rich, interconnected learning experiences. Built on the strong foundation of Te Whāriki, it reflects the principles of Aotearoa New Zealand’s early childhood curriculum and the aspirations we hold for our children as they grow.
Our MOVE programme deliberately sets out physical activities that give children the opportunity to learn, practice and master physical skills whilst developing their resilience, perseverance, patience, co-ordination, gross-motor skills, teamwork and much more, all while having loads of fun!
Nutritious food is the foundation for healthy growth and development in our children. Our Nourish menus fuel our children and support full, healthy tummies enabling clear minds to focus on the learning and set children up to thrive at our centre.
