At Busy Bees Havelock North, we have a cosy nursery, a separate toddler centre and an adventurous kindergarten learning environment. Each area has their own separate outdoor area providing endless opportunities to explore the natural environment - our toddler space even has their very own bike track. Your child will love the well laid out learning corners at our centre, consisting of a family play area, creative art corner as well as a quiet space for reading and reflection.
Get in touch if you would like to come in for a tour and experience the magic of our centre in person.
We value relationships with our centre whānau (family) and wider Havelock North community. We believe that these relationships are crucial to your child's development, and we incorporate them into our programme on a daily basis. An example would be our relationships with neighbouring Te Mata School and Hereworth School through our excellent transition to school programme.
Busy Bees Havelock North's qualified Early Childhood Educators is passionate about providing high-quality care and education for your child. We bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team and their special connection with our children is cherished and supported at our childcare centre in Havelock North.
Nursery (up to 2 years)
Our Nursery environment is based on building loving and trusting bonds between infants and teachers, who structure the day according to individual needs. Teachers work closely with families to understand infant cues and develop a routine that supports children’s natural rhythms. Play is open-ended and full of fun as we embrace the unknown of how children explore and experiment with their ideas and theories of how the world around them works.
Toddler (2-3.5 years)
Our Toddler centre is designed to help our tamariki balance the desire to be independent with the need to be nurtured and cared for. This age group are ready to explore their sense of self whilst still needing more care than the older children, therefore a focus on emerging social skills and independence make this space. Our Toddler environment is prepared to entice children’s curiosity and exploration where testing, trying and challenge is valued. We support childhood learning with a curriculum that is developmentally appropriate and supportive of all children during this age of discovery and wonder.
Kindergarten (3.5-6 years)
Our Kindergarten programme provides opportunities throughout the day for children to be involved in contributing to the curriculum, helping to make decisions about what is set up, and sharing their ideas to slowly prepare our little ones for their next learning adventure. With Hereworth a hop skip and a jump away and both Havelock North Primary School and Te Mata School just up the road, we provide an excellent transition to school programme. This involves group opportunities that include a wide range of learning outcomes such as songs/singing and dancing, nursery
We believe that through nourishing food, children are fuelled to thrive physically and mentally, whilst enjoying the benefits of coming together and connecting as a group at mealtimes.
