At Busy Bees Pakuranga, we believe that as an early learning, we have an important part to play in our local community and a very special opportunity to positively impact the lives of our young tamariki in their early stages of development.
We promote the development of active and confident learners who think, question, seek information and apply knowledge to the best of their ability. We have a beautiful large outdoor space, with age-appropriate areas. All of our rooms are well-resourced for the development of each age group.
We offer regular visits to the library and our local primary school as part of incorporating our localised curriculum. We are also fortunate to have our very own mini hall, that we visit during centre operational hours to extend various learning experiences for our children.
We proudly celebrate all cultures that make up our centre community. We do this by recognising each individual child, their home and where they come from, and we incorporate these into our day-to-day centre curriculum. This is all part of developing a sense of belonging. We take pride in small centre traditions such as farewells when children are 5 and off to school!
Our inhouse cook provides freshly made meals for children each day using our Nourish menus and recipes, based on the New Zealand Heart Foundation Tohu Manawa Ora | Healthy Heart Award for Early Learning Centres. We believe that through nourishing food, children are fueled to thrive physically and mentally, whilst enjoying the benefits of coming together and connecting as a group at mealtimes.
Teachers also do regular baking with the children, which provides them opportunities to engage and learn a range of food preparations skills and fine motor movements such as pouring, sifting, spooning. It is a great hands on sensory experience for children to develop independence through self-help skills, practice simple maths as they measure and count quantities.
Our space is made up of six amazing rooms, supporting children at each age and stage as they progress.
Seedlings and Saplings – (0-2 years): Our nurturing environment is focused on fostering routines and building relationships. We facilitate age-appropriate learning and development opportunities for your little ones and work alongside you.
Sprouts – (3-4 years) In Sprouts we create an engaging and enriching learning experience tailored to the needs of this age group. Our focus is on ensuring equitable learning for all children as they actively explore and navigate their educational journey.
Shoots – (4-5 years) We offer a transition-to-school program that extends your little ones’ knowledge and introduces them to concepts and experiences they may encounter in a school setting.
Additionally, we have a separate Montessori-inspired room, where we seamlessly integrate Montessori principles and curriculum with our Te Whariki ECE curriculum, providing a holistic and well-rounded educational experience.
It’s diverse in lots of things like individual learning and group learning teachers are great
Good building and classroom set up. Plenty of parking, easy communication with staff and teachers.
Very friendly and understanding stuff & teachers. The place is so warm and welcoming as well.
I cannot rate these guys anymore, we have no family in New Zealand, so they are like my son's second family. The careers are super helpful & supportive when needed. My son is now 11 months old but joined at 7.5 months as I needed to return to work & they couldn't have been more reassuring when I struggled to leave him. Attachment issues.
My son has blossomed a lot since attending your centre.
