At Busy Bees Te Kauwhata, we value every child and see them as unique and a special taonga. Our teachers are passionate about encouraging children's creativity, supporting their emerging social interactions, and celebrating their individual successes.
We understand that your child’s education and care can be a big decision. We would be delighted to share in your child’s learning journey.
Our team is made up of passionate and experienced teachers who are warm, welcoming and naturally caring people. We see all children as individuals, valuing each unique stage of life, show them respect for who they are and providing equal opportunities to ensure the best possible start in life.
Our centre offers wonderful, safe and fun outdoor spaces where children are provided with a range of diverse resources, including natural gardens and environment visuals, whilst enjoying the fresh air.
Intentional activities and provocations are set up daily throughout the centre, providing calming and inviting spaces, where you'll often hear children, whānau and kaiako engaging in meaningful conversations. Throughout our day, we also embrace our Christian curriculum, interwoven through values, stories, and songs, nurturing a caring and respectful environment where kindness and community are celebrated.
We are proud to be a lunchbox centre. This promotes independence as well as encourages self-help skills in preparation for school.
We encourage families to make healthy food choices and ensure their child’s pouaka kai (lunch box) meets centre guidelines as well as Ministry of Health criteria for Early Learning Services.
We have four thoughtfully designed spaces, each tailored to support tamariki within their own learning and social age groups.
Ruma Tahi | Our nurturing space for pēpi (infants) from 3 months to 2 years, divided into calm, cozy zones to allow our youngest learners to safely explore and grow.
Ruma Rua | A warm, spacious environment for tamariki aged 2 to 3 years, with shared outdoor play areas that encourage active exploration and relationship-building.
Ruma Toru | Designed for our inquisitive 3 to 4-year-olds, Ruma Toru fosters a love of learning with weekly projects and activities that introduce days of the week, letters, sounds, and early numeracy skills.
Ruma Wha | Our school-readiness space for 4 to 6-year-olds, where tamariki engage in structured, interest-based projects and routines, helping them build confidence and independence as they prepare for the transition to school. Our buddy system pairs new or transitioning tamariki with a peer who shares similar interests, fostering tuakana-teina relationships that support and guide them along the way.
