Are you looking for a supportive centre through your studies? Are you looking for a centre you can continue to grow in after you graduate?

We are searching for a motivated individual with a love for working with children to join us as a  3rd Year Student Teacher! Step into the world of hands-on learning and gain invaluable experience contributing to the growth and development of our little learners!

About us:

The natural environment of Busy Bees New Plymouth allows children to spontaneously connect with Papatūānku right here in our own outdoor space. Tamariki take on the role of Kaitiakitanga, through this they learn various concepts like garden to table and sustainability. Connecting with nature is a favourite activity among our children at Busy Bees New Plymouth and therefore our outdoor play areas are open the whole day for children to run, jump, hide, create, and have fun!

We celebrate whakawhanaungatanga (relationships) by connecting with our community through multicultural celebrations and creating a strong sense of belonging. Some of our community relationships include weekly Playball sessions and fortnightly Kapa haka with Whaea Rae. We also have the local library bus visit the centre fortnightly and often spend time at Chalmers Rest Home which the children and residents love. We are fortunate to be able to use our local walkway and park whenever possible.

About you:

Previous experience in an ECE environment would be a definite advantage although candidates who are great at communicating, friendly, approachable and who are passionate about nurturing and caring for the needs of our tamariki should also consider applying.  You will be supporting a professional team of teachers in a fun, positive and rewarding environment. You must be in your final year of studying an ECE Level 7 degree.

As a valued teacher at Busy Bees, you will be provided with:

  • Generous Study Incentive Programme for Teachers in Training
  • We have opted in for Full Pay Parity
  • Subsidised childcare
  • Once qualified we will pay for your teacher registration costs
  • First Aid certification and annual flu vaccination
  • Uniform
  • A monthly staff wellbeing budget and access to EAP services
  • A generous PLD budget where you can choose PLD for your own learning.
  • Comprehensive induction, mentoring and appraisal processes and ongoing opportunities for career growth!
  • A highly skilled and supportive team to work alongside!

This is a fantastic opportunity to put theory into practice and to join a wonderful team! Apply now with your CV and Cover letter and join the whanau who know how to support great people!
