We are seeking a passionate, dedicated and qualified teacher to join our team on a part-time, fixed-term basis to cover a maternity leave. This is a wonderful opportunity to work in a supportive and vibrant teaching environment where children are at the heart of everything we do.

This part time role offers 25 hours per week from Monday – Friday on a roster basis, for a fixed term period from June 2025 – October 2025.

 Busy Bees Stoke in Nelson has a play-based approach to learning, allowing children time and space to independently explore and seek understanding of the world around them. Our Busy Bees Nelson team in Stoke is made up of passionate and experienced teachers who are warm, welcoming and naturally caring people. Key Responsibilities:

  • Build positive, respectful, and responsive relationships with children, whānau, and colleagues
  • Work collaboratively as part of a teaching team to support smooth daily routines and transitions
  • Contribute to observations, assessments, and documentation of children's learning
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
  • Uphold the philosophy and values of our centre
  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of Te Whāriki / New Zealand Curriculum and current best teaching practices

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A recognized teaching qualification (ECE/Primary) and current Teaching Council of Aotearoa NZ registration
  • Proven teaching experience and a commitment to high-quality education
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A caring, flexible and proactive approach to teaching
  • Knowledge of or willingness to embrace bicultural practices and Te Ao Māori
  • Passion for supporting the holistic development and wellbeing of all learners

The successful candidate will play an integral role in maintaining the high-quality education and care we provide, while contributing to the continuity of learning for our tamariki during this fixed term period.
