We’re looking for a caring, reliable and proactive Centre Helper to join our team and help keep our centre running smoothly and safely for our tamariki and team!

This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are quite the same. You will play an important part in maintaining a clean, well-organised and welcoming space, while supporting the behind-the-scenes flow of daily life at our centre. From helping with hygiene and tidiness, to restocking supplies and supporting kaiako during busy times, this is a key role that helps everything come together each day!

This part time role offers 18 hours across 3 weekdays – have a kōrero with us to discuss your ideal hours!

About us:

Busy Bees Douglas Street provides well-resourced learning environments, and our spacious and natural outdoor areas give tamariki the opportunity to freely explore and enjoy real grass, water play, a bike track, trees and real grass, to enjoy safe risk-taking and form caring friendships. In the warmer months tamariki can also enjoy swimming in the centres very own pool. We are located on Douglas Street in Whakatane, just round the corner from our McGarvey Road Centre, with both Allandale Primary School and Whakatane High School within walking distance from the centre.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has a positive, can-do attitude
  • Takes pride in creating clean and safe spaces
  • Is dependable, organised and happy to help wherever needed
  • Enjoys being part of a team that’s passionate about supporting tamariki

Why work for us? We offer:

  • Discounted childcare
  • Uniforms provided
  • Free annual flu vaccinations
  • A friendly and supportive work environment

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys practical work, is community-minded, and wants to be part of a warm and supportive ECE environment. If this sounds like you, apply today with your CV!

Applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand (valid visa or residency)

Why Work for Busy Bees?
If you’re passionate about early learning, Busy Bees is the place to be. Although we are part of a global organisation, our company was founded by three families looking for better, more enriching childcare. Three decades later, we still keep the same values at heart.

We know that we couldn’t do what we do without the important people in our teams. We invest in our people and work with them to build career pathways that inspire.
