NZ - Registered Teacher
Do you love watching tamariki gain confidence as they explore the natural world?
We are seeking a Registered ECE Teacher to join our warm, nature-rich centre in Māpua on a fixed-term contract until September 2026.
This part time role offers 25 hours from Monday – Friday on a rotating roster basis.
About us:
Our three age-appropriate rooms flow to their own outdoor areas, with a bike track, native garden, and plenty of space for adventurous play. Learning is holistic and nature-based, guided by Te Whāriki and strengthened by strong partnerships with whānau and our local schools. Community is part of every week, from Aranui Park and the library to visits with Māpua, Tasman, Mahana, and Appleby schools that support confident transitions. We are proud holders of the Rito Tohu Manawa Ora | Healthy Heart Award. As a lunchbox centre we grow independence around kai, and teachers bake with tamariki for hands-on fine-motor, maths, and self-help skills. As part of Busy Bees Aotearoa, you are backed by a nationwide whānau.
About you:
You hold an ECE or Primary qualification with current NZ ECE teacher registration. You bring buckets of enthusiasm and steady energy, a nurturing, caring presence, and a people-first approach that builds responsive relationships with tamariki, whānau, and colleagues. Clear, warm communication comes naturally. You are skilled in planning, curriculum design, and reflective practice. You notice children’s ideas, assess learning with care, and turn those insights into thoughtful, play-based experiences that help young children thrive in inclusive, bicultural environments.
Why you’ll love it here:
Full Pay Parity!
Discounted childcare
First aid certification, annual flu vaccines, and uniforms
A generous PLD budget you can direct toward your own learning
Thoughtful induction, mentoring, coaching, and clear pathways for growth
A monthly staff wellbeing budget with access to EAP
If this sounds like your kind of place, we’d love to meet you. Send your CV and a cover letter now!
Please note: Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
