NZ - Registered Teacher
Do you thrive in nature-based, relationship-led teaching?
We are looking for a Registered Teacher to join Busy Bees Māpua on a fixed term contract until September 2026 and help tamariki grow as confident, curious learners in our beautiful coastal community. As a kaiako here, your work is valued, your ideas matter, and your day is filled with movement, connection and meaningful learning.
This part time role is 25 hours per week, worked Monday to Friday on a rotating roster.
About us:
usy Bees Māpua is a nature-rich, community-centred centre tucked into a coastal village, where learning happens indoors and out. Our three age-based rooms open onto generous outdoor spaces with a bike track, native plantings and plenty of room for real, energetic play.
Relationships are at the heart of what we do. Teachers work closely with whānau and with each other, so tamariki feel known, supported and free to explore. Our holistic, nature-based approach encourages children to think for themselves, ask questions and try things out, whether that is in the garden, at group time or on local excursions. We hold a Healthy Heart Award, reflecting our focus on wellbeing and active lifestyles. Strong links with local schools, regular trips into the community and swimming lessons for older tamariki keep our programme grounded in the place we live. As part of Busy Bees Aotearoa, kaiako have solid systems behind them, clear opportunities for growth and leaders who welcome ideas and honest kōrero.
About You:
You hold an ECE or Primary qualification with current NZ ECE teacher registration. You bring buckets of enthusiasm and steady energy, a nurturing, caring presence, and a people-first approach that builds responsive relationships with tamariki, whānau, and colleagues. Clear, warm communication comes naturally. You are skilled in planning, curriculum design, reflective practice, and both regular and emergent reviews. You notice children’s ideas, assess learning with care, and turn those insights into thoughtful, play-based experiences that help young children thrive in inclusive, bicultural environments.
Why you’ll love it here:
Full Pay Parity!
Discounted childcare
First aid certification, annual flu vaccines, and uniforms
A generous PLD budget you can direct toward your own learning
Thoughtful induction, mentoring, coaching, and clear pathways for growth
A monthly staff wellbeing budget with access to EAP
If this sounds like the next step in your teaching journey, we would love to hear from you. Please apply with your CV and cover letter.
Applicants must have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
We are an Accredited Employer.
