NZ - Registered Teacher

Teach where nature, community, and curiosity meet. At Busy Bees Western Heights, tamariki and whānau feel a strong sense of belonging.

We are seeking a Registered Teacher to help facilitate meaningful, play-based learning and support smooth transitions to kura. This is a part-time position of 25 to 30 hours per week, with the possibility of a four-day week. You will plan and assess with Te Whāriki in mind, contribute to learning stories on Storypark, create engaging environments indoors and out, and uphold warm, responsive relationships with tamariki and whānau.

About us:

Our welcoming centre has calm, well-resourced rooms for infants, toddlers, and young children, plus a spacious outdoor area with real grass, flowers, and trees. We grow vegetables in our garden, care for worm farms, and make the most of our neighbourhood with regular excursions by bus to the library, local parks, shops, and our next-door neighbour, Western Heights Primary School. Thoughtful provocations, art, and inquiry turn everyday moments into rich learning, and partnership with parents anchors everything we do. As part of Busy Bees Aotearoa, you’ll be backed to learn, lead, and thrive.

About you:

You bring huge energy and genuine warmth, with an ECE or Primary qualification and current NZ teacher registration. Confident with Te Whāriki, you plan thoughtfully, deliver rich curriculum, and complete regular and emergent reviews to keep learning purposeful. Your natural people skills help you build strong, trusting relationships with staff, tamariki, and whānau, and you communicate clearly and kindly. Nurturing and child-centred, you create responsive relationships that help young children thrive, partnering with families to celebrate progress and navigate next steps together.

Why you’ll love working here:

  • Full Pay Parity!

  • A monthly staff wellbeing budget and access to EAP services

  • Comprehensive induction, regular mentoring, and relevant PLD

  • Discounted childcare

  • First Aid certification and annual flu vaccination

  • Uniform provided

  • Clear growth pathways and ongoing professional development across Busy Bees Aotearoa

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid work visa.
