Are you a Registered Teacher who loves real connection, rural calm and child-led learning across different age groups? We are looking for a kaiako to join Busy Bees Dargaville and help tamariki grow as confident, curious learners in our three classrooms.
About us:
Busy Bees Dargaville is a close-knit, rural centre where teaching still feels personal and community based. With three age-appropriate rooms, kaiako get real variety, the chance to see tamariki grow over time and plenty of scope to lean into their strengths, whether that is settling pēpi, supporting emerging independence in toddlers or weaving school readiness into rich, play-based learning for older tamariki. Our open, inviting spaces look out over the countryside, and daily life includes veggie gardens, fruit trees, composting and links with a local farmer, so sustainability is not just talked about, it is lived. Nourish menus are prepared onsite in line with Healthy Heart guidelines, which means shared mealtimes feel purposeful. As part of the Busy Bees Aotearoa whānau, kaiako are supported with clear systems, professional growth opportunities and a leadership team that values reflection, collaboration and fun in the day-to-day mahi.
About You:
You hold an ECE or Primary teaching qualification and current NZ teacher registration. You enjoy working across different age groups and feel comfortable supporting everything from settling pēpi to school-ready projects in Tāne Mahuta. Building strong, trusting relationships with tamariki and whānau is central to your teaching, and you bring a calm, positive presence to your room. You communicate clearly, work well in a team and feel confident planning, implementing and reflecting on a play-based, responsive curriculum. A genuine interest in nature, sustainability and community connections will help you thrive here.
