About us

Busy Bees Papamoa Beach is a friendly, well resourced centre a short stroll from the ocean. Some days you can hear the waves while you set up play. Our team is kind, steady, and organised, with a calm rhythm that makes it easy to slot in and do great work. We partner closely with whānau and keep communication clear so everyone feels welcome and informed.
 

Our practice is thoughtful and child led. In the Nest (o-2) we follow a respectful, Pikler inspired approach with unhurried care and free movement. In the Hive (2-3) we coach big feelings with co regulation, clear language, and simple routines that help toddlers feel safe and confident. In Bumblebees (3-5) we spark curiosity through play, inquiry, and real life experiences, with early literacy and numeracy woven in. Across all rooms we value bicultural practice, keep supervision tight, and set up beautiful invitations to play both indoors and outside.

About you:

You are warm, reliable, and easy to work with. You read the room quickly, follow routines, use initiative, and keep supervision tight, notice the small safety details, and are happy to jump between ages from sleepy pēpi in the Nest to busy preschoolers in Bumblebees. You can move between ages with ease, set up simple invitations to play, co regulate big feelings, and share clear updates with the team and whānau. You value our bicultural kaupapa and use a little te reo Māori, or you are keen to learn. You are punctual, flexible for short notice calls, and happy outdoors.
