NZ - Registered Teacher

Do you love the way sea air slows the pace and invites curiosity?

At Little Coasties by Busy Bees, a short stroll from the beach, we are looking for a Registered ECE Teacher to join our warm, community-minded team. Bring your practice to a place where tamariki are seen as taonga and learning unfolds through play, care, and connection

About Us:

Our days carry the coast with them. Sea air, unhurried routines, and plenty of space to explore. We meet every child with gentle care, rich resources, and age-appropriate rooms that support babies, toddlers, and preschoolers to grow with confidence. Regular beach walks are part of our week. We investigate rock pools, collect natural treasures, and care for our coastline together, building kaitiakitanga in real, joyful ways. Baking with kaiako turns pouring, sifting, and spooning into fine-motor practice, and early maths. Sustainability is woven through the kitchen too. We run a bokashi system that turns scraps into soil for local farms, keeping waste out of landfill and giving tamariki a hands-on lesson in caring for Papatūānuku. Story-rich learning, warm partnerships with parents, and community connections give children a strong sense of belonging. As part of Busy Bees Aotearoa, you will feel the strength of a nationwide whānau around you, with supportive leadership and real pathways to grow.

About You:

You hold current NZ teacher registration in ECE or Primary and bring a calm, nurturing presence. Clear communication, strong relationships with whānau and colleagues, and a love of child-led learning come naturally to you. You are confident with Te Whāriki, planning, and assessment, and you value bicultural, inclusive practice that helps tamariki feel safe, curious, and ready to explore.

The Mahi:

You will create thoughtful, play-based experiences that honour children’s ideas, observe and assess learning with care, and contribute to planning and learning stories that reflect each child’s voice. In the room you will champion safety, wellbeing, and inclusive practice, while partnering closely with whānau to set goals, celebrate progress, and keep each learner’s journey front and center.

Why You’ll Love it Here:

  • Full Pay Parity!

  • Discounted childcare

  • A monthly staff wellbeing budget with access to EAP services

  • First aid certification, annual flu vaccines and staff uniforms

  • A generous PLD budget where you can choose PLD for your own learning

  • Comprehensive induction, mentoring, and coaching.

We would love to hear from you so apply now send by sending through your CV and cover letter, or get in touch to learn more.

Please note: Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.

Why Work for Busy Bees?
If you’re passionate about early learning, Busy Bees is the place to be. Although we are part of a global organisation, our company was founded by three families looking for better, more enriching childcare. Three decades later, we still keep the same values at heart.

We know that we couldn’t do what we do without the important people in our teams. We invest in our people and work with them to build career pathways that inspire.
