Looking for regular, meaningful hours that still leave space for the rest of your life?
House of Wonder Cambridge is looking for a part-time kaiako to join our team for around 10–12 hours a week across three days. No weekends!
About us:
House of Wonder Cambridge is part of Busy Bees Aotearoa, so you get the feel of a close-knit centre with the backing of a nationwide whānau. We are a Reggio Emilia inspired centre where kaiako are trusted as professionals and co-researchers alongside tamariki. Our three well resourced, age appropriate rooms support calm, relationship based care, rich project work and playful school readiness. Sensory rich, natural environments, a Healthy Heart Award kai programme and regular community excursions mean you step into a programme that already centres hauora, inquiry and meaningful learning. This is a place where your ideas are taken seriously and you are supported to grow your practice.
About you:
You may be starting out or bringing years of experience. But you bring warmth, reliability and a genuine love of working with tamariki. Maybe you’re studying ECE, thinking about it, or you’ve gathered experience as a reliever, nanny or support person. You’re calm, curious and enjoy play-based learning, you communicate clearly, follow guidance from lead kaiako and you’re happy to pitch in wherever needed to keep the day flowing smoothly.
The role:
You will be part of the regular team, supporting ratios, routines and the flow of the day, with some flexibility to work across rooms depending on your strengths and the needs of the centre. There may be opportunities to pick up additional relieving hours from time to time.
Why you’ll love it here:
Discounted childcare
A welcoming, supportive team who value relationships and reflection
Annual flu vaccination
Uniform
A monthly staff wellbeing budget and access to EAP services
Comprehensive induction and ongoing mentoring
If this sounds like you, apply with your CV and a short cover letter.
Applicants should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
