NZ - Registered Teacher

Are you a Registered Teacher who enjoys variety, adventure and genuine partnership with whānau? We are looking for a registered teacher to join Busy Bees Douglas Street and weave rich learning through our busy indoor spaces, Montessori inspired rooms and much loved outdoor areas.
As a kaiako with us, you will have the incredible opportunity to inspire and empower tamariki, enriching their learning experiences and fostering their growth.

About us

Busy Bees Douglas Street is well established in the Whakatāne community, with strong relationships with families and local support services so we can wrap care around our whānau when it is needed most. Our centre has six individual classrooms catering for tamariki aged 0 to 6, each with its own character and rhythm. Our spacious outdoor environment gives children room to move, explore, play and connect with others. We are proud to have two Montessori inspired classrooms that offer Montessori activities and resources alongside free play, giving tamariki both structure and freedom to follow their interests. As part of the Busy Bees Aotearoa whānau, and working closely with our sister centre at McGarvey Road, we are guided by our core values of Whānau, Respect, Adventure and Passion in all that we do.

About you:

You hold an ECE or Primary teaching qualification and current NZ teacher registration. Enthusiasm, professionalism and genuine care show through in your teaching, and you enjoy being part of a collaborative, skilled team. Clear communication and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with tamariki, colleagues and whānau are strengths you bring to your mahi, along with a calm, nurturing presence in your room. You are confident with planning, curriculum and reflective practice, and feel excited by the chance to work across different age groups and learning environments, including Montessori inspired spaces. Above all, you are passionate about creating engaging, inclusive environments where children feel safe, seen and eager to learn.

Why you’ll love it here:
