Are you someone who enjoys keeping people connected, organised and supported throughout the day? We are looking for a Centre Administrator to join Busy Bees New Plymouth and bring calm coordination to a vibrant, community focused ECE environment.
This is a part time role offering 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
About us:
Busy Bees New Plymouth is a welcoming centre where teamwork sets the tone. Our three age based rooms and generous outdoor spaces create plenty of movement and warmth throughout the day, and our kaiako work closely together to support tamariki as confident, curious learners. The Centre Administrator plays an essential role in this. You will greet whānau, support enrolment processes, assist kaiako with documentation and daily admin, and keep our systems running smoothly with accuracy and care.
This is a centre grounded in connection. Tamariki spend time outdoors exploring our natural environment, building kaitiakitanga and confidence. Our community links are strong, with regular kapa haka, local park adventures, Playball, and visits from the library bus and Chalmers Rest Home. As part of Busy Bees Aotearoa, you will have access supportive leadership and opportunities to develop your skills across administration and centre operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Face to face interactions with parents, children and visitors to the Centre
Maintenance of our childcare management system (Discover) - data entry, data audits, parent invoicing and payment receipts
Answering and directing telephone calls, timely, accurately and professionally
Daily and weekly reports and data collation as required by the Centre Manager
Supplying information to our Support Office in line with daily and weekly reporting requirements
Any other general admin-based tasks as required and requested
About you:
You are organised, friendly and confident speaking with families, kaiako and support office teams. You enjoy balancing multiple tasks and keeping things tidy behind the scenes. You are comfortable using digital systems, processing enrolments, managing documentation and supporting the Centre Manager with daily admin needs. Accuracy, calm communication and a genuine people first approach will help you thrive. Administration or customer service experience is an advantage, but attitude, reliability and warmth matter most.
