NZ - Registered Teacher
If you love stepping into different rooms, supporting great teams, and bringing calm, capable energy wherever you go, we would love to welcome you into our reliever pool at Busy Bees Hastings.
About us:
Busy Bees Hastings is a centre where relationships shape everything. Kaiako work with intention, kindness and genuine collaboration so tamariki feel safe, confident and free to explore. Our three spaces each hold their own flavour. The nursery is warm and relaxed, our toddler room is full of curiosity and discovery, and our kindy environment invites big ideas, active movement and growing independence. Outdoor areas flow naturally, cultural identity is honoured, and teaching practice is grounded in Te Whāriki, emotional competency, and whanaungatanga.
As a reliever, you will be stepping into a centre with strong teamwork, open communication and a positive, steady culture.
About you:
You are a Registered Teacher who brings calm energy, adaptability and a commitment to responsive, child-led learning. You read the room quickly, support smooth routines, and build trust with tamariki and kaiako. You value inclusive practice, cultural responsiveness and collaborative teaching. You communicate clearly, stay anchored under pressure and enjoy contributing to environments where children feel seen, supported and celebrated.
The mahi:
You will move between rooms as needed, supporting kaiako to keep the day steady and child centred. Your work will include helping guide routines, engaging in play-based learning, noticing children’s cues, offering calm relational support and contributing to environments where tamariki feel safe, curious and confident. You will bring consistency, warmth and good communication as you slot into each space, working alongside the team to uphold responsive, inclusive practice across the centre.
Why you’ll love it here:
Flexibility to choose the days and frequency you work
Warm, relationship-focused team who genuinely value relievers
Opportunity to work across nursery, toddler and kindy environments
Strong teaching culture grounded in Te Whāriki and whanaungatanga
Supportive leadership, clear communication and calm, steady practice
If you have a genuine interest in caring for and supporting our little ones and this sounds like the right fit, please apply with your CV and a short cover letter telling us about your availability.
Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
