Bring your heart, your craft and your curiosity to a centre that loves turning everyday moments into real learning. This is a full time, fixed term role until September 2026 for a Registered Teacher to join Busy Bees Taupō and pour into tamariki and whānau.

About us:

Busy Bees Taupō is a warm, community-minded centre where tamariki are treated as taonga and whānau genuinely feel at home. Our locally based kaiako know their families and use beautiful provocations, arts and inquiry to turn the nursery, preschool and shared tuakana teina spaces into places of rich, play based learning. The programme is shaped by Te Whāriki, strong partnerships with parents and a commitment to inclusion. We celebrate language weeks, kapa haka, Matariki, Diwali, Chinese New Year and more so tamariki see their cultures reflected around them. Nourishing, home style kai, baking with tamariki and a focus on Healthy Heart all sit alongside thoughtful teaching. As part of Busy Bees Aotearoa, you have solid systems, PLD and leadership backing while Taupō keeps its own close knit feel.

About you:

You’re an energetic, caring kaiako with NZ teacher registration (ECE or Primary) and a strong grasp of Te Whāriki. You plan, assess, and review confidently (e.g. learning stories/Storypark), creating engaging, play-based environments and provocations that spark curiosity. Warm, clear communication helps you build responsive relationships with tamariki, whānau, and your team, and you keep supervision and safety tight. You value bicultural practice, weave simple te reo Māori into everyday moments, and champion inclusion. Reflective and growth-minded, you use evidence to lift outcomes; strengths in behaviour guidance, additional needs, or mentoring are a bonus.

Why you’ll love working here:

  • Full Pay Parity

  • Monthly staff wellbeing budget + access to EAP

  • Comprehensive induction, regular mentoring, and relevant PLD

  • Discounted childcare

  • First Aid certification provided + annual flu vaccination

  • Uniform provided

  • Clear growth pathways and ongoing professional development

We welcome experienced and emerging kaiako. Apply with your CV and tell us how we can set you up to thrive.

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid work visa.
