At Busy Bees Hobsonville, we believe that children are natural researchers, and our role is to learn alongside them in a community built on respect and wonder.

Our centre is a vibrant space where curiosity is the compass and every day is a canvas for discovery. We are looking for an Unregistered Teacher who is eager to support tamariki as they direct their own learning, ensuring they feel safe, empowered, and inspired by the world around them. If you are ready to be part of a team that sees every moment as a teachable opportunity, your journey starts here.

About us:

Busy Bees Hobsonville is grounded in the Reggio Emilia philosophy, featuring six specially designed classrooms that foster meaningful Tuakana/teina relationships. As a proud member of the Busy Bees Aotearoa whānau, we are part of a nationwide network committed to high-quality early childhood education. Our local curriculum is truly unique - our tamariki explore everything from Airforce history and clay work to sustainability and horticulture. We value Whanaungatanga, celebrating our diverse cultures and maintaining strong links with our wider community through local walks and special events. From our dietitian-designed menus and on-site baking to our beautiful, art-filled provocations, we provide an enriching environment where every child’s potential is nurtured.

About you:

You bring a warm, approachable energy and a genuine passion for the early years, whether you are beginning your ECE studies or bringing valuable life experience to our team. We are looking for a kaiako who demonstrates initiative and a proactive "can-do" spirit, someone who is excited to engage in open-ended play and critical thinking alongside our tamariki. You communicate with clarity and heart, building trusting relationships with whānau and colleagues alike. Most importantly, you act with integrity and are eager to grow your practice within a supportive, collaborative environment.

Why you’ll love it here:

  • Teacher in Training Support: We offer a generous programme specifically for those currently studying toward an ECE qualification.

  • Discounted childcare

  • Annual flu vaccine and staff uniform

  • Wellbeing & Support: You will have access to a monthly staff wellbeing budget and EAP.

  • Opportunities to grow your skills and experience in ECE

  • Comprehensive induction, mentoring and ongoing development

  • Work alongside a passionate, highly skilled team in a fun, inclusive, and learning-focused workplace.

Apply now with your CV and Cover letter and join the whanau who know how to support great people!

Please note: Applicants should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.

Why Work for Busy Bees?
If you’re passionate about early learning, Busy Bees is the place to be. Although we are part of a global organisation, our company was founded by three families looking for better, more enriching childcare. Three decades later, we still keep the same values at heart.

We know that we couldn’t do what we do without the important people in our teams. We invest in our people and work with them to build career pathways that inspire.
