Do you love turning everyday moments into active adventures and meaningful learning?
We’re looking for a Registered Teacher to join our professional, community-focused team at Busy Bees Whau Valley. Bring your teaching craft to a centre where tamariki are empowered to lead, and your growth is supported by a nationwide network.
About us:
Busy Bees Whau Valley is a safe, empowering professional environment featuring two age-appropriate rooms, Kowhai and Kauri, where tuakana/teina relationships are at the heart of our practice. You’ll join a team that values independence—from our pēpi following their natural rhythms to our preschool tamariki serving their own kai and directing their own projects. We have a standout relationship with our local primary school, and you will facilitate weekly kura visits that help our oldest learners build confidence alongside their friends. We also take pride in our "Nourish" menus; here, kai is more than a meal—it’s a teaching tool. You’ll engage in regular baking with tamariki to help them master fine motor skills and early maths. As part of the Busy Bees Aotearoa whānau, you’ll be backed by national systems and regular PLD, while enjoying our local perks like our centre gardens, fruit trees, and our very own Busy Bees van for community excursions.
About you:
You are a Registered Teacher (ECE or Primary) who brings energy, warmth, and a professional, reflective mindset. You are passionate about child-led learning and feel confident in your ability to observe, assess, and document the unique theories and ideas of our tamariki. Building strong, trusting relationships with whānau is a natural part of your practice, and you enjoy working collaboratively with a team to create challenging and curious environments. You are a clear communicator who values inclusive practice and is excited to weave te reo and tikanga Māori into the daily rhythm of the centre.
Why you’ll love it here:
• Full Pay Parity
• Discounted childcare
• First Aid certification, annual flu vaccination and uniform
• Generous PLD budget where you choose your focus
• Induction, mentoring and ongoing support from Busy Bees Aotearoa
• A supportive team culture with real community connection
Ready to join our team? If you’re looking for a centre that values active exploration and professional excellence, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now by sending through your CV and a cover letter telling us why you love teaching!
Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa. We are an Accredited Employer.
Why Work for Busy Bees?
If you’re passionate about early learning, Busy Bees is the place to be. Although we are part of a global organisation, our company was founded by three families looking for better, more enriching childcare. Three decades later, we still keep the same values at heart.
We know that we couldn’t do what we do without the important people in our teams. We invest in our people and work with them to build career pathways that inspire.
