If you love the variety of moving between different learning spaces and bringing a calm, capable energy to every room you enter, we would love to have you in our reliever pool at Busy Bees Wellington Street. We are looking for both Registered and Unregistered educators who are passionate about supporting children’s unique learning journeys while enjoying a role that offers true balance.
About us:
Busy Bees Wellington Street is proud to be part of the Busy Bees Aotearoa whānau, a collaborative network of unique centres across the motu. Every child here is seen as a unique taonga, and our centre consists of two distinct buildings: a nurturing Nursery and an adventurous Preschool. We have a strong commitment to holistic wellbeing, weaving the pillars of Hauora into our daily curriculum. Being a short walk from the botanical gardens and having close ties to our local community, we provide an environment rich in exploration, connection, and play-based learning, backed by the support of a national organisation.
About you:
You are someone who brings a warm, steady presence and a genuine love for working with children across all ages. Whether you are a registered teacher or someone early in your ECE journey, you are adaptable, read the room quickly, and enjoy the variety of moving between different spaces. You value inclusive practice and feel comfortable supporting child-led learning while maintaining clear communication with the rest of the team. Most importantly, you stay anchored under pressure and enjoy contributing to environments where children feel safe, seen, and celebrated.
The mahi
As a reliever, you will move between our two buildings, supporting our permanent kaiako to keep the day steady and child-centred. You might be settling pēpi in our Nursery or supporting rich, discovery-based learning in our Preschool environment. Your work will include guiding routines, engaging in play-based learning, and offering calm relational support as you slot into each space. You’ll bring consistency and warmth to our teams, working alongside our experienced kaiako to uphold the high-quality care that Wellington Street is known for.
Why you’ll love it here:
You will love the genuine flexibility this role offers, allowing you to choose the days and hours that work best for your life, whether you are studying or balancing family commitments. The work itself is incredibly rewarding, giving you the chance to gain experience across different age groups in a nature-rich, supportive environment. You will be part of a professional team that genuinely values the fresh energy and support relievers bring, ensuring you feel like a respected part of the whānau from day one.
If you have a genuine interest in caring for and supporting our little ones and this sounds like the right fit, please apply today!
Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
Why Work for Busy Bees?
If you’re passionate about early learning, Busy Bees is the place to be. Although we are part of a global organisation, our company was founded by three families looking for better, more enriching childcare. Three decades later, we still keep the same values at heart.
We know that we couldn’t do what we do without the important people in our teams. We invest in our people and work with them to build career pathways that inspire.
