Busy Bees Ormiston Road is looking for a proactive and warm Unregistered Kaiako to join our multicultural whānau in a part-time capacity. This is a 25 hour per week role where you can help foster a sense of belonging and curiosity for our tamariki while growing your own career in early childhood education.

About us:

At Busy Bees Ormiston Road, our team is a beautiful mix of cultures where everyone belongs. Joining the Busy Bees Aotearoa whānau means you have the backing of a national network while working in a team that celebrates every background. In our Honey Pots nursery, we focus on building deep bonds with our pēpi, while our Pohutukawa room team prepares our older tamariki for kura. We love bringing our own stories to life through cultural cooking and our playground to plate gardens. With our centre van keeping us connected to the local Flat Bush area, we are a true community. Join a supportive team where your unique heritage and heart are celebrated every day.

About you:

You are someone who brings a proactive "can-do" spirit and a genuine heart for the early years. Whether you are a beginning teacher just starting out, currently studying, or bringing a wealth of life experience from another sector, we value the integrity and warmth you bring to our team. We are looking for a team member who communicates with warmth and clarity, values the power of Whanaungatanga, and isn't afraid to get stuck in to follow a child’s lead. You take pride in maintaining a safe, inclusive, and beautiful environment where learning unfolds naturally and every person is respected as a unique taonga.

Why you'll love it here:

  • Teacher in Training Support: We provide a generous programme, mentoring, and coaching for those on their journey toward an ECE qualification.

  • Discounted Childcare: Support for your own whānau to be part of the Busy Bees community.

  • Wellbeing Focus: Access to monthly wellbeing support, EAP, and annual flu vaccines to ensure you are looked after.

  • Professional Growth: Benefit from being part of a national network with ongoing PD and global expertise.

  • Sustainability in Practice: Work in a newly recognised Enviroschool that prioritises kaitiakitanga and nature-rich learning.

  • Vibrant Team Culture: Join a talented, multicultural team dedicated to professional excellence and child development.

Apply Now If you are ready to help our tamariki reach their goals in an environment built on respect and connection, we would love to hear from you

Applicants should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.

Why Work for Busy Bees?
If you’re passionate about early learning, Busy Bees is the place to be. Although we are part of a global organisation, our company was founded by three families looking for better, more enriching childcare. Three decades later, we still keep the same values at heart.

We know that we couldn’t do what we do without the important people in our teams. We invest in our people and work with them to build career pathways that inspire.
