Step into a role where heart and sustainability meet in the early years. We are looking for a reliable and warm Unregistered Teacher or Teacher in Training to join our infants' space. If you are passionate about providing high-quality care and want to be part of a team that values nature and belonging, we would love to have you with us.

About us:

Busy Bees Manchester Street is a place of heart and high standards in Feilding. Joining the Busy Bees Aotearoa whānau means you have the backing of a national network while working in a tight knit local team. We take real pride in our playground to plate philosophy where we grow and harvest our own produce together. Our Enviroschools focus is a big part of our mahi, including our worm farm and sustainability partnerships with local farmers. Every role is vital in our team and we offer a purposeful setting where your unique strengths are valued as we work together to nurture every tamaiti. Join us where we celebrate sustainability and build a strong sense of belonging for everyone in our whānau.

About you:

  • A Heart for Children: A warm and approachable nature that makes whānau and tamariki feel truly at home.

  • A Proactive Spirit: The initiative to get stuck in, look for improvements, and act with integrity in ways that are fair and ethical.

  • A Gift for Connection: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all age groups and cultures.

  • Growth Mindset: A budding interest in Te Whāriki and a commitment to your own personal and professional development.

  • Reliability and Care: A high standard of personal care and hygiene, ensuring our learning environment is always safe and welcoming.

The mahi:
You will be an essential part of the team, making sure every day is full of discovery and meaningful moments for our tamariki. Your focus will be on:

  • Providing gentle, high-quality physical care for our youngest tamariki, including hygiene, safety, and nurturing routines.

  • Assisting the teaching team to implement a curriculum based on Te Whāriki that supports individual development.

  • Engaging in our sustainability mahi, from the vegetable gardens to our playground to plate activities.

  • Building warm, open relationships with whānau to ensure they feel supported in their parental roles.

  • Helping to maintain a beautiful, safe, and hygienic learning environment.

  • Documenting the unique learning journeys of our infants through profile books and online portals.

Why you’ll love it here:

  • Teacher in Training Programme: We provide a dedicated programme with mentoring and coaching to support you if you are working toward your ECE qualification.

  • Ongoing Learning: Access regular professional development and stay current with the latest trends and theories in early childhood education.

  • Holistic Wellbeing: Enjoy monthly wellbeing initiatives, EAP access, and covered costs for your annual flu vax and First Aid certification.

  • Practical Support: To make your workday easier, we offer discounted childcare fees and staff uniforms.

If you are ready to join a team that values your heart, your skills, and your connection to community, we would love to hear from you

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid work visa.

Why Work for Busy Bees?
If you’re passionate about early learning, Busy Bees is the place to be. Although we are part of a global organisation, our company was founded by three families looking for better, more enriching childcare. Three decades later, we still keep the same values at heart.

We know that we couldn’t do what we do without the important people in our teams. We invest in our people and work with them to build career pathways that inspire.
