Bring your initiative to a modern environment where the team feels like a true community. We are looking for a Registered Teacher to join our local team in Woodend. This is a space where your creativity is celebrated and you have the support of a national network behind you.
About us:
Busy Bees Judsons Road is a modern environment in the Woodend community where our team feels like a true whānau. As part of the Busy Bees Aotearoa whānau you get the security of a national network while being part of a local team that really loves what they do. Our four rooms are named after beautiful Canterbury rivers, and our huge natural grass areas offer space for everyone to explore. From our dietitian led Nourish meals to our sustainable partnership with a local farmer, every member of our team plays a vital role. We live by whanaungatanga and tuakana teina, creating a supportive setting where your creativity and initiative are celebrated as we nurture our tamariki together.
The Mahi | You will be an essential part of the team, making sure every day is full of discovery and meaningful moments for our tamariki. Your focus will be on:
Using Te Whāriki as your base to plan and guide the educational and developmental journey of each child.
Capturing and sharing high-quality assessments, ensuring each child's unique progress is celebrated with their families.
Creating a supportive and equitable atmosphere where relationships and a sense of belonging are prioritised.
Building effective, positive relationships with the whole team and providing a warm, guiding hand for students and helpers.
Maintaining a beautiful and safe environment where the physical care and safety of all tamariki are held to the highest standard.
About You | To be successful in this role, you will bring:
A recognised ECE or Primary teaching qualification and current New Zealand teacher registration.
A Gift for Connection: Excellent communication skills and a warm, approachable nature that makes people feel truly at home.
A Proactive Spirit: The initiative to continually look for improvements and the integrity to act in ways that are fair and ethical.
Pedagogical Passion: A deep commitment to Te Whāriki and an interest in innovating with core philosophies like Reggio Emilia.
Technical Ease: Confidence using the digital tools that help us document learning and stay connected with our community.

Why Work for Busy Bees?
If you’re passionate about early learning, Busy Bees is the place to be. Although we are part of a global organisation, our company was founded by three families looking for better, more enriching childcare. Three decades later, we still keep the same values at heart.
We know that we couldn’t do what we do without the important people in our teams. We invest in our people and work with them to build career pathways that inspire.
