We have a fixed term opportunity available until February 2027 for an inspiring kaiako to join our House of Wonder Chartwell team. If you are drawn to the Reggio Emilia philosophy and love guiding tamariki through sensory rich adventures, this is your perfect space.

About us:
We value every child as a unique taonga and celebrate the magic of curiosity. Joining the Busy Bees Aotearoa whānau gives you national support within a local team that fosters a warm and encouraging environment. Every role is essential to our daily flow, from our in-house cook prepping fresh, Healthy Heart awarded meals to the mahi happening in our sensory-rich rooms. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, we work together to spark discovery through natural materials and open-ended play. Our days are filled with adventure, whether we are exploring the natural world on bush walks or supporting toddlers in our dedicated water room and art studio.

The mahi:

  • Guiding Learning Journeys: Using Te Whāriki as your base to plan and guide the educational and developmental journey of each child.

  • Documenting the Magic: Capturing and sharing high-quality assessments, ensuring each child's unique progress is celebrated with their families.

  • Fostering Connection: Creating a supportive and equitable atmosphere where relationships and a sense of belonging are prioritised.

  • Collaborative Practice: Building effective, positive relationships with the whole team and providing a warm, guiding hand for students and helpers.

  • Nurturing Excellence: Maintaining a safe environment where the physical care and safety of all tamariki are held to the highest standard.

About you:

  • Professional Heart: A recognised ECE or Primary teaching qualification and current New Zealand teacher registration.

  • A Gift for Connection: Excellent communication skills and a warm, approachable nature that makes people feel truly at home.

  • A Proactive Spirit: The initiative to continually look for improvements and the integrity to act in ways that are fair and ethical.

  • Pedagogical Passion: A deep commitment to Te Whāriki and an interest in experimenting and innovating with core philosophies.

  • Technical Ease: Confidence using the digital tools that help us document learning and stay connected with our community.

Why you'll love it here:

  • Full Pay Parity!

  • Generous PLD budget to support your ongoing learning and career development.

  • Enjoy monthly wellbeing initiatives, EAP access, and covered costs for your annual flu vax and First Aid certification.

  • Discounted childcare for your own tamariki.

Why Work for Busy Bees?
If you’re passionate about early learning, Busy Bees is the place to be. Although we are part of a global organisation, our company was founded by three families looking for better, more enriching childcare. Three decades later, we still keep the same values at heart.

We know that we couldn’t do what we do without the important people in our teams. We invest in our people and work with them to build career pathways that inspire.
